My name is Munch.ii, the government knows me as Koketso Khunou, I'm a 19 year old, and I am the Chief Executive Officer of Munch.ii Maquillage.

Munch.ii Maquillage is a black female Owned Business established in September 2020.

I always knew that I wanted to be a business owner from a very young age. I kept alternating between business ideas in school because having my own income and doing the things that make me happy was my initial goal. I would always get so excited whenever we had entrepreneur's days/market days from the very first one which was in grade 2. I still remember what I sold (Marie biscuits with icing sugar, smarties and jelly tots)

In 2020, at the age of 16, I was scrolling through Youtube and came across an Entrepreneur's Videos named Ajiara Alexyis, I became obsessed with the idea that I wanted to start a Lipgloss Line. The inspiration also came from me not knowing of any Lipgloss line in South Africa, I wanted to be the first- unfortunately, I was not the first.

While taking Business Studies in high school for three years, and the subject being one of my strongest, I used the knowledge I developed there into my business. (funny how I didn't want to take the subject-that's a story for another day though)

After planning out my brand for months, my support system was my family. It took time to convince my dad to make the investment though, I guess it was because I was just a "16 year old dreaming". I thank both my parents though for trusting me and believing in my idea.

My goal is to prove to myself and those who don't believe that I am capable of making an income with something that makes me happy everyday, and at the same time inspiring others!

How did I come up with "Munch.ii Maquillage"?

Well, It started off as "Munch.ii lips" and all I sold was Lipgloss, I later added "Munch.ii blinks", "Munch.ii Body" then decided to bring them all together into "Munch.ii Maquillage" after discovering that the word "Maquillage" means "cosmetics/Make-up"

I knew I didn't want to be a regular beauty business that promotes products that will end up telling you to "buy this because it looks cute". I wanted my business to showcase purpose and meaning too & sells products that people may to relate too.

"Munch.ii" comes from my instagram name "ma.mii_munch.ii" so it's very personal to me and I kinda just told you what "Maquillage means.

Motivating and Inspiring others are things I would like to do through my business. I also use my platforms (mainly, Youtube channel) to motivate, support other small businesses, and teach others how they can start their own business as well!
